Should Google Desktop be banned?

It seems as though Google may have finally gone to far. It is a fine line between feature and threat / risk. The idea and concept of a desktop search is good; however, Google needs to consider the ramifications to the corporate world of what they are developing.

Wow! Gamefly is really slow.

by Admin 13. March 2006 21:03

I am not ready to give up on it yet, as I have not yet found a suitable alternative. I like the idea and they recently starting giving away rewards, points or something like that based on length of subscription which is nice. I just wish they could distribute product more quickly.

Netflix

by Admin 13. March 2006 21:03

I have been using netflix for the past month and am really pleased. Talk about a great way to get reasonably priced movie rentals.

3 movies for $18 is $6 a movie per month. If you manage to turn those one during the month, you are down to $3 per rental. I cannot rent a dvd anywhere around her for 2 weeks for $3. Not to mention if you get new ones every week you can be down to $1.50! That is cheap and not having late fees is nice.

France to Apple: Open up ITunes or Shut Down!

It is nice to see someone is trying to force the music industry to work with it's consumers. Preventing retailers (who are using influenced by labels) from restricting how you can use your purchased copies of music is getting out of hand. Laws restricting your ability to fairly use what you have purchased need to be changed.

France is forcing Apple to open its iTunes online music store and enable consumers to download songs onto devices other than the computer maker's popular iPod player. If not, they would have to shut down the ITunes store in France!
