Great site - Digital Photography Review

by admin 20. January 2008 22:01

I was recently directed to a great site Digital Photography Review. The site provides very good information about all sorts of digital cameras with the ability to do comparisons. The forums seem to be very active and the users seem to be very helpful.

Digital Photo Software

by admin 20. January 2008 21:01

Well, I made my decision. After spending hours working with both Apple's Aperture and Adobe's Lightroom I have made my choice. I will be using Adobe's Lightroom. In the end, I thought they were both good applications and reasonably priced (both at $299.00).

In the end there were just a couple things I preferred about Lightroom.

Wordpress - Another un-eventful upgrade

by Admin 20. January 2008 17:01

Though for many people in the professional world, this may not be an advantage I suspect there are plenty of amateurs out there who have not plunked down the money for a Mac.

Overall the interface is good and very usable. Across the top of the screen clearly lists the modules / sections of the applica... [More]

Apple Aperture

by Admin 16. January 2008 22:01

I have recently been looking at applications specifically suited as resources for digital photography. I am currently looking at Apple's Aperture.

Overall this looks like a good application with a lot of capabilities. At a glance the management of photos is a little confusing. Library, Albums, Projects, Light Tables, etc. it was a bit unclear at the beginning where files should be, where masters versus versions are, duplication of resources, etc. In the end, once you read through the guides, it will all make much more sense.

Photo editing is a little weak. I like how versions are managed and originals are never altered and ... [More]
